Change is coming
To newsletter or not to newsletter
As we approach 2024, I will be making a few changes, which I will share with you over the rest of this year.
To start, let’s talk about change #1: To newsletter or not to newsletter.
A few years ago I joined an entrepreneur group, and over the course of those years I got in this natural cadence of writing long form, educational posts within that group, asking questions, answering questions, and engaging in dozens and dozens of great conversations via private messages with other business owners. Writing in that group felt frictionless for me, and the conversations and strategic connections that were started as a result of my writing was rewarding.
Writing educational content comes natural to me, so when I started this newsletter for House of Audits I thought I would take to it well.
But I didn’t.
It’s not that it was difficult to produce the content. That part for me is easy.
But there’s something in me right now that feels friction with the medium of posting my content regularly in an email newsletter. Because I’m not able to get the full depth of writing content that leads to further, in depth conversations. And I very much crave that cycle that leads to conversation.
House of Audits isn’t going anywhere.
But for now, these are the changes I’m making in terms of where I will be posting my long form, educational content:
The entrepreneur group I talked about above has recently decided to close its doors, so I am starting Deep Think: A space for entrepreneurs with earned experience to connect, converse, teach, and learn.
The conversation will take place inside of Slack, and there are a variety of channels that are categorized by topics (technology, Ops, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Lifestyle, etc)
I will personally dedicate time to contributing content that’s based around documentation, processes, and making strategic business decisions after analyzing data.
If you fancy joining the conversation, here’s the link to do so.
House of Audits is undergoing some fun changes as we head into 2024. I’ll share those in the upcoming weeks. So this email list isn’t going anywhere. I will just (for the time being) share on a less frequent cadence to keep you in the loop.
It goes without saying but should always be said. Thank you for being a reader, and contributing to my House of Audits journey.
We will chat in a few weeks, and until then…
